Juan Carlos Tapia

Motivated by his interest in design, photography and architecture, Juan Carlos started his career in the advertising business 28 years ago.
He has been Head of Account Management and Strategic Planning at: BBDO, Leo Burnett and Publicis WW Mexico. While working at these agencies, he was involved in creating major advertising initiatives for some of the most famous brands in the world such as Chivas Regal, MINI, McDonald’s, M&M’s, Whiskas, Aspirin, BMW, Don Julio, Citibanamex, Snickers, Tecate and Oreo among others.
Juan Carlos Tapia is currently CEO at Le Pub, Publicis WW, Saatchi & Saatchi and Marcel WW. During his time as CEO, his team has been recognized at Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, IAB and Ojo de Iberoamérica among others. Most recently, Publicis WW Mexico was recognized at D&AD 2021 with the first Yellow Pencil for a Mexican agency and the most awarded Mexican agency at Cannes 2021, winning the Grand Prix for Good, three Gold Lions, two silver and three bronze.

His main challenge for the past few years has been the integration of a more agile and integrated consultancy harboring a collective of multi-skilled experts on data, creative, strategy, production and technology.
In addition to working at global agencies, Tapia is part of the teaching staff at the advertising school Simulador de Vuelo where he is responsible for teaching the Strategic Planning seminar. He has also been part of the Global Effie and New York Festival International Advertising Awards Judging staff and Círculo Creativo de México Grand Jury. Named among the 300 most influential leaders in Mexico by Líderes Mexicanos magazine. Speaker @Waze MasterClass and AdWeek México.

Juan Carlos speaks English and Spanish, and resides in Mexico with his three children.
