Kathryn oversees Hy-Vee’s marketing strategy, including the retailer’s full-scale retail media network, RedMedia. From a marketing perspective, Kathryn’s focus is building strategies through a customer centric approach leveraging data and insights. She partners with the Hy-Vee leadership team to manage brand image, conduct marketing research, and drives incremental sales. Relating to RedMedia, Kathryn counsels CPGs and other brands on how to precisely target consumers utilizing first-party data and strategic placement and messaging to provide meaningful and personalized engagement with consumers. She also advises brand partners on how to maximize their marketing investments while delivering measurable results and valuable consumer insights. RedMedia directly connects brands to consumers using data touchpoints and marketing channels powered by exclusive first-party data. Prior to joining Hy-Vee, Kathryn spent nearly 20 years of her career at DICK’S Sporting Goods. In her most recent role, she served as vice president of media/GM retail media and successfully launched and scaled a retail media network for the retailer. From 2017 to 2021, Kathryn served as the senior director of marketing planning and operations with the critical role of managing all facets of outbound and in-store marketing. Earlier in Kathryn’s career, she served in the following capacities at DICK’S: director of marketing financial planning, manager of marketing finance, senior analyst and marketing accounting analyst. Maureen began her career as an Assistant Media Buyer in National Broadcast at the inception of IPG’s General Motors MediaWorks buying unit and was quickly promoted to a Buyer overseeing GM’s $300MM+ Sports investments. Maureen then went to work on the sales side at Discovery Communications as a Sales Planner. Maureen crafted sales plans and marketing ideas for such clients as Procter & Gamble, Warner Brothers, Universal Studios, Exxon Mobil and M&M Mars. After Discovery, Maureen went to back to the agency side working at Universal McCann for four years on the Coca-Cola account. While working on Coca-Cola Maureen ran their high-profile Olympics sponsorship which was more than $100MM in addition to managing their juices and water brands. Maureen joined Optimedia, NY in April 2004 as a VP, Associate Director in charge of buying for T-Mobile, BMW, ServiceMaster among other brands. In March of 2010 Maureen was promoted to EVP of the National Video department overseeing the strategic investments across all clients including Pizza Hut, Bridgestone Tires and Liberty Mutual representing billings more than $400MM. Maureen joined Initiative in February of 2016 as the Chief Partnerships Officer overseeing all investments across the portfolio of clients including Amazon/Amazon Prime Video, T-Mobile, Liberty Mutual, Merck, Gilead, and Lego to name a few. In this role, Ying is responsible for maximizing ad revenue across Xumo’s growing inventory, including supply within Xumo Play, on the channels it syndicates to other platforms via its Xumo Enterprise business, and from content partners on Xumo TV and Xumo Stream Box. Her oversight includes critical functions such as ad sales, ad operations, sales marketing support, pricing & packaging, and reporting and attribution.
Previously, Ying served as Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for Comcast Advertising, where she managed executive priorities as Chief of Staff to the President and led transformation initiatives for the advertising sales and technology business unit. Known for challenging the status quo, Katie has driven content and technology innovation, developing creative and immersive media marketing programs grounded in data and ROI. She was instrumental in securing multi-million-dollar investments, including annual Upfront deals and NA Digital partnerships. Earlier in her career, Katie worked with Initiative, MPG, MediaEdge and MediaVest, gaining valuable experience in planning, buying, insights and branded entertainment for major clients like Intel, MCI WorldCom, Accenture, Xerox, Procter & Gamble and Hardee’s. Katie’s career is marked by her commitment to excellence and innovation in media strategy, leveraging her extensive experience to drive impactful results for leading brands.

About the Speaker
Jeanniey Walden has decades of experience building and transforming brands, creating customer connections and driving significant business growth using a proprietary approach she calls “AIR(™).” AIR stands for Authenticity, Inspiration and Relatability. On her TV show she engages celebrities, C- Suite and entrepreneurial guests utilizing this approach and discusses key topics that enable viewers to be inspired and find the mentorship and solutions they need to succeed. Jeanniey Walden’s leadership and industry contributions can be seen throughout her career. Most recently, she led the brand transformation in the retail pharmacy industry that supported the Rite Aid emergence from bankruptcy. Early on, she pioneered the creation of the first wearable tech jewelry line for teens at Ringblingz, launched the first digital publishing newstands for the Apple, Google, and Samsung platforms at Zinio, established the first industry trade organization for email marketing called the Email Experience Council (EEC) which is now currently run by the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), and created the first email marketing division of an ad agency at Grey Direct. Throughout her career, Walden has received numerous accolades, including being named “Women Leader of the Year” by the Internet Marketing Association and being featured at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018. Jeanniey was also recognized as one of the Top 100 Women in Brand Marketing in 2024 by Brand Innovators. She was also chosen to receive the Empowered Woman of the Year Award for 2023 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).Jeanniey was also recognized as one of the Top 100 Women in Brand Marketing in 2024 by Brand Innovators.
