I built OLX Brazil from nothing to becoming the largest used goods, autos and real estate marketplace in Brazil. I first joined as its first CEO at 28 years old to create the classifieds marketplace category in Brazil and built one of the country’s strongest brands with more than 60 million monthly users. Upon merger with our largest competitor Bom Negócio (to create a 50/50 JV with Adevinta/Prosus) in 2015, I took the role of COO to drive revenue growth >10x and increase OLX’s relevance in Autos and Real Estate verticals. Since 2020, I have been leading Real Estate upon acquiring the leading Real Estate marketplace for USD 583M (Grupo Zap) making it OLX’s largest business though its portals zapimoveis.com.br and vivareal.com.br . We have transformed this business into the most relevant and profitable business in the market.

Key milestones:

– Making OLX the largest classifieds marketplace in Brazil, we changed Brazilian culture and have instilled a massive consumer brand known to all Brazilian and used by more than 60M people per month

– Built autos and real estate vertical marketplaces from scratch making OLX Brazil very profitable, in 2023 OLX delivered USD 200M in revenues and a 28% EBITDA.

– Drove and led the most important acquisition in the marketplace segment by acquiring Grupo Zap, the leading Real Estate marketplace. Real Estate represents 60% of total company revenue.

– In year 1 post acquisition of Grupo Zap (rebranded to ZAP+), took it from a declining and unprofitable business into a 20% top line growth and 20% EBITDA margin business. We are on route to accelerating growth in real estate to 50% per year. Turned around Grupo Zap that is en route to becoming a massive success.
